INTERESTING ENGINEERING - Researchers have discovered up to 10 previously unknown species of now-extinct trilobites in Thailand's least explored region.
Fossils hidden for 490 million years were uncovered by researchers from the University of California along the coast of Ko Tarutao island. This discovery has the potential to bridge gaps in our knowledge of animal life during the late Cambrian period, spanning between 497 and 485 million years ago.
As per the official release, the team has named one species in honor of Thai Royal Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who was known for her "steadfast dedication to developing the sciences in Thailand".
